The Yearbook: Photos

It is now time to begin developing our yearbook! This means we need to start submitting photos and statements, forming a yearbook committee, and choosing all of our class "stuff."

Submitting Senior Photos.

We will need to begin this process right away so that we can avoid an ugly yearbook cause by last minute work. Here are the TEACH guidelines: The photo is a vertical head shot meaning the photos is in portrait format, not horizontal. The head will be about 1 1/4 E 1 1/2 inches from chin to top of head, so there isn't room for any background, pets or props. Ideally the background should be neutral and non distracting but
there isn't really any room for a background when your head takes up most of the space anyway. Dress nicely this is your official portrait as you enter into life after high school. It will be memorable and you'll look back on this photo as capturing a moment when many of you will leave your homes and life will never quite be the same for you. You'll be officially "grown up."  kinda.

So at least try to make yourself look good... no "Glamour Shots", boas or low cut blouses for girls (or guys) no facial hair for guys (or girls) and no long hair for guys (girls OK). You can use this photo for a job application, so dress rather conservatively and look sharp. The same is for the graduation ceremony so grow your beard afterward if you must. Thanks!

Submitting "Baby Photo":

Try to send a photo from birth to under 5 years of age. It's always fun when you have the same pose but that's usually a coincidence.

Email:
300 dpi, grayscale, white = 5% and Black = 95%

The finals size should be about 2 inches x 2.5 inches. Please do not crop them close. Leave a little extra space at the edges. The layout person will be able to crop them automatically We usually scan them in color at 500-600 dpi, and then edit them to size Photo file must be a minimum of 300kb in size. The dpi (dots per inch) is also around 300dpi. Any smaller and the photo becomes pixilated. Actual printed size is 1 7/8 x 2 3/8 inches,so don't send in photos that are huge! Some have sent in photos that are 48" x 36" and 16 mb in size -  waaaay too big!
Email your photos to office@teachinstitute.org or

Snailmail: Send actual photos to the TEACH office: include a self-addressed stamped envelope so we can return them to you as soon as we scan them.

    1. The end of fall... I know that that is kind of subjective, so I'll email Mr. Newhouse about it, but I can tell you for sure that it should be in before the first day of winter (Dec 21st)
