Class Verse

It looks like these are the verses that have been suggested so far: Joshua 1:9, Isaiah 40:31, Psalm 91:1-2, Psalm 16:1, Philippians 4:13, John 10:4, and Hosea 10:6 (let me know if I missed any). Hebrews 12:1 is another one I came across. So far Joshua 1:9 and Isaiah 40:31 seem to be peoples favorites. I was thinking maybe it would be a good idea to choose a verse first and then choose a motto and song with a common theme based off the verse. Just some thoughts. Everyone please share your thoughts.

  1. I think it's a great idea to have our verse, song, and motto all be a common theme.

  2. Another one we could do is Psalm 48:14 :
For this God is our God for ever and ever: He will be our guide even unto death.

  3. That sounds like a great idea! I would have to say Joshua 1:9....but they both (Isaiah 40:31 and Joshua 1:9) are two of my favorites! :) What are all your thoughts?

  4. I really like Isaiah 40:31 and Psalm 48:14! (I really like Joshua 1:9 so that's my third pick)

  5. I really like Psalm 48:14 as well.

I also like Philippians 3:14, if we all were to feel so inclined. :)

  6. I'm not totally sure whether or not we are technically allowed to add more verses to the list, but I haven't heard anyone say NOT to, so I couldn't resist putting down my favorites...

    2 Corinthians 4:16-18
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

    And also this one:

    Psalm 37:5-6
"Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun."

    And lastly...

    1 Corinthians 1:26-31
For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”
